2001
Where It Started
Wren opened his first staffing office in Baltimore. No investors. No business plan written by consultants. Just a guy who knew the labor market, knew the trades, and knew that if you answer the phone at 5 AM, you'll earn the work.
2005
Proving the Model
He sold that first operation to Command Center and stepped into the role of Regional Vice President. From there, he built out offices across Washington DC, Roanoke, Lexington, Florence, and Chattanooga. He proved the model worked far beyond one city.
2010
Building His Own
Wren went back to building his own thing. He helped grow LaborMAX into a national brand and launched TradesMAX Staffing from the ground up, placing skilled tradespeople across multiple states. Carpenters, electricians, welders, pipefitters, plumbers, CDL drivers, painters, mechanics, and machinists. The kind of people who build what everyone else takes for granted.
Now
Appalachian Labor
After two decades in staffing, Wren launched Appalachian Labor to do things his way. All the experience, none of the red tape. A lean operation built on relationships, not overhead. One office, one mission: put reliable people on your job site and never give you a reason to call someone else.
